Have You Ever Been to Whitfield Light Railway?

I thought this might be something of interest to you. Ian, who runs the Whitfield Light Railway, has been a supporter of the Scoop since the beginning, so I approached him to send over some details about his light railway.

Ian runs Whitfield Light Railway, which is a 10 ¼” gauge miniature railway based at The Hayloft in Bold/Penketh WA8 3XP. It offers an 8-minute ride for children aged 0 to 100 😀

The Hayloft is a family-run coffee shop offering breakfasts, brunches, ice cream, and cakes, along with a play area and farm animals to feed. The sunflowers start tomorrow, which is always really popular!

The railway usually opens on most weekends, during school holidays, and for most of October. Check the railway socials on (Facebook and Instagram) for the latest details.

As usual, let him know the Scoop sent you if you end up going 😃

Here are some stories that don’t involve crime or politics from around the town over the past few days.

Do you remember when we had a Fatty Arbuckle restaurant? 🤔

We’ve been busy on Instagram lately, posting videos that get people interacting and talking. One of the most commented on was the one I have embedded below, which is located on the Riverside Retail Park.

There were lots of comments left on the video of what people wanted to see open here. The unit is apparently opening as a Starbucks. What would you like to see? Leave us a comment on the video.

Warrington Wordle 🧠

If you are new here, the Warrington Wordle is always a word that’s semi-related to Warrington. It could be an area, a famous person’s surname or a landmark.

As usual, feel free to reply to the email to let me know how you get on.

Thanks 👍️

Thanks for reading The Warrington Scoop today.

If you found this useful, please share it with someone who always takes the wrong turns on the roundabouts around Cromwell Avenue.

Catch you on Friday.

Mike
