Warrington Food and Drink News 🍽️
🍺 Anchor and Hops (craft ale bar in Stockton Heath) has a run club happening this Saturday at 12:15. You can then obviously reward yourself with a nice pint after it as well 😉
🎶 Pennies Bakehouse is having late-night openings next Wednesday and Thursday from 6pm to 9pm with wine, music, snacks, and vibes!
🐶 The Maltins (the best dog-friendly pub around) have announced their new menu, which looks really good.
🇬🇷 Souvlaki officially opened yesterday. This is a new Greek restaurant chain with several other locations across the country. You can find them just near the Skittles in the town centre.

What do you think about the Sankey Street redevelopment?
The council has confirmed the next stage of the £1.5m Sankey Street upgrade, which focuses on cleaner travel and a safer route into the town centre. It’s a big project for a busy part of Warrington, and it would be good to hear what newsletter readers think about it.
Here’s a quick rundown of the main changes (taken from the Guardian website):
Roundel at the Legh Street junction – an ‘informal non-priority junction feature’.
Reduction in access from Legh Street to Bold Street to buses and taxis, and loading at restricted times. Through access is to be removed.
Introduction of contraflow cycle lane.
Reduction in parking bays.
Revised on-street parking and loading arrangements at Hilden Square.
I’ve added a short poll below. Let me know if you’re in favour of the plans or not.

Norman Cook aka Fatboy Slim Book Signing
As mentioned in Monday’s Scoop, Fatboy Slim has a gig at the Parr Hall on Saturday night, but before that, he is doing a book signing event down at Lizard Records on Legh Street from 2pm
If you are a fan, get yourself down, meet him, and get a signed book!

Warrington Wordle 🧠
Shout out to Graeme M, who got last week's Wordle in 2 attempts and asked what he would win. I told him a shout-out is his prize 🤣
As always, reply to this email and let me know how you get on.
