  • There is a clothes kilo sale coming to Golden Square 👗

Kilo Sale at Golden Square 👕

If your January wardrobe needs a bit of help, this is a good one. Golden Square have teamed up with Swipe Vintage to bring a proper vintage kilo sale to town.

It’s on Sunday 25th January, 11am–5pm, in the unit opposite Barrhead Travel.

Everything is hand-picked, no rummaging through rubbish. It’s £20 per kilo, weighed fairly, so you only pay for what you grab. Big items like coats and leather jackets are capped at £20, and all shoes are just £5 a pair.

We Visited Zalos in Stockton Heath

Last week’s feature of Dorado Lounge went down really well, so I thought it was worth adding another.

This is only the third time I've been, and each time it’s been great. The service is (and I don't say this lightly) probably some of the best I've ever had. Drinks and food come out fast, and the staff in there work so hard.

We went for the Turkish breakfast, which is something I'd never normally go for, but I was with my nephew after park run, and he promised me it was amazing..... and he was right.

There are also two other Zalos in Lymm and Latchford, which might be closer to you. Theres also the London Road cafe in Stockton Heath, which is owned by the same people and has practically the same menu, and it’s also very good.

If you are new to the area, I would recommend trying them.

Community Catalysts 🫰

A quick follow-up to last year’s Community Catalysts piece. A few local micro businesses are now up and running after completing the programme.

  • Companion Care North West
Offering friendly, practical support for people who need a bit of help day to day. Built around trust, independence, and local care.

  • Clear Spaces and Gardens
Helping people keep gardens and outdoor spaces tidy, safe, and manageable. Ideal for anyone who wants support without the fuss.

Both businesses can be found on Small Good Stuff, which lists local services run by people supporting their own communities.

A video showcasing the very best of Warrington 📸

As it’s the new year, I decided to put together this video showcasing the best of Warrington. Just a quick snapshot of some of the nice things. It’s attracted the usual comments of people moaning…… but for 1 minute, I thought it would be nice to focus on the things that make our town great. There have also been some lovely comments.

I hope you enjoy it.
