Good morning, Warrington. Mike here. This is The Warrington Scoop.

Fancy doing something different this week instead of the usual routine? There’s a fair bit going on locally at the moment, and this guide should give you a few ideas.

P.S. Thanks to the new members who became new monthly supporters, your names have been added to the bottom of the email 😀

Our sponsor T1 (located right near Fiddlers Ferry Power Station) is quickly becoming a go-to place in Warrington if you enjoy sport or just want somewhere lively to spend a few hours. There’s loads going on there, including:

• Driving range
• Padel courts
• Indoor football pitch
• The Range sports bar
• Café for food and coffee
• Fishing lake

It’s a great place to meet mates, watch the match, or get involved in a bit of sport yourself.

Here are some positive stories from around the town over the past few days. Again…. these were hard to find.

🏦 The Parr’s Bank Hotel in Warrington has been named Small Serviced Accommodation of the Year at the Visit Cheshire Tourism Awards 2026, held at Walton Hall & Gardens. Judges praised its immaculate rooms, excellent food and high standard of customer service. Some winners from the awards will now progress to the national VisitEngland Awards. (Warrington Worldwide)

☕️ A new community café called The Causeway Community Café has opened at St John’s church hall in Warrington. It runs every Tuesday from 10am to 2pm, offering hot drinks, homemade food and a welcoming space to socialise. The café is run by volunteers with support from Willow Green College and aims to help bring people together. (Warrington Guardian)

🏉 Rocco’s & Rugby Festival returns to Monk Sports Club in Woolston on Saturday 6 June. The charity event features three rugby matches, live music, food vendors and a kids’ inflatable funfair. Tickets start at £6, with all proceeds going to St Rocco’s Hospice. The festival has raised £20,000 for the hospice over the past three years. (Warrington Guardian)

It’s also freehold and comes with no chain, which is always a bonus.
