Good morning, Warrington. Mike here. This is The Warrington Scoop. The twice-weekly email delivering good news straight to 16,007 inboxes across the town.

Grab your favourite brew, and let's start.

P.S If you don’t already, please follow us on Facebook and Instagram. Your support would be much appreciated, as I want to make a push to get to 20,000 on each account.

I’m really pleased to share that I’m now welcoming clients in a new space at EA Fitness in Warrington.

My work focuses on helping to release stored tension in the body that can place ongoing strain on the nervous system. When the body is holding this kind of stress, it can contribute to feelings such as anxiety, persistent headaches or migraines, emotional overwhelm, physical discomfort, and long-term stress patterns.

Through gentle, hands-on holistic therapy, we work with the body to encourage release, regulation, and a greater sense of ease.

I will also be at the venue below in August

Restore and Rise Wellbeing
📍Hindley Hall Golf Club, Hall Lane, Hindley, WN2 2SQ
📆 15th August

🎾 Stockton Heath Tennis Club are running Summer Kids Camps until 28th August, and non-members are welcome too. Full day is 8.45am to 4.15pm at £30 for non-members, and half day sessions are available from £17.50. A 10% sibling discount is also available.

🚶 Every Wednesday this summer, a free community walk sets off from the Pavilion Tea Rooms on Manchester Road at 10.30am for a gentle hour-long stroll. Great for your wellbeing and a lovely way to meet new people.

🏬 With Hancock and Wood closing its doors for good very soon, this old photo of the original shop front on Bridge Street has been doing the rounds on social media and it's a brilliant piece of Warrington history. One commenter bought her wedding hat there in 1966 and still has it in its original box. If you haven't paid the store a final visit yet, now's the time.

📚 Yesterday was Book Lovers Day, and we thought this was worth a mention. Did you know Golden Square has a Book Swap Corner next to Costa? Leave a book you've loved and pick up a new one to take home.

🌸 Have you noticed how good the town centre is looking at the moment? There are some brilliant flower displays and planting popping up across Warrington town centre and it's adding a real splash of colour to the streets.

🍯 We had Scott from Crafty Bees on the podcast a while back, and he's a brilliant bloke, so great to see him expanding. He's just opened a new honesty box in Winwick on the footpath between St Oswald's Church and St Oswald's Parish Hall. Just turn up, pick what you want and pay the listed price by cash, PayPal or bank transfer. We'd personally recommend the hot honey, it's absolutely gorgeous. A percentage of every sale also goes to St Oswald's Church which is a lovely touch

🌟 The Pride in Place Board for Hulme and North Orford has held its first meeting, beginning the process of deciding how to spend £20 million of government funding on the area. Residents will get to have their say through community events, surveys and social media, with letters currently going out to every household. (Warrington Worldwide)

🎤 A nice read about Chris Hodgkinson of HC Promotions, the man behind some of Warrington's biggest live events including the recent Starsailor show in Old Market Square. As HC Promotions approaches its tenth year, Chris is on a mission to change the perception that nothing good happens in Warrington and has big things planned. (Warrington Guardian)

👟 Warrington runner Andy Edwards is taking on a 100-mile challenge across 10 events throughout the year to raise funds for Adoption Matters, a charity that finds families for children waiting to be adopted. (Warrington Guardian)

Thanks for reading The Warrington Scoop today.

If you found this useful, please share it with someone who remembers when we had a Wimpy in Warrington. Bonus point if you can reply to this email and tell me roughly what shop is where it was now. The reason I mention this is that I was down south this week on holiday and came across one, and it brought back some memories.

Catch you on Friday

Mike
