Your Warrington in one quick read
Festivals, house of the week, taxis and a new Aldi
Good morning, Warrington. Mike here. This is The Warrington Scoop. I visited two nearby towns this week (I won’t say which ones), but it makes you realise just how well Warrington is doing compared to them. It may never return to how we remember it being (I know you want M&S back, and some of you want the “old” market stalls to return), but let’s focus on the positives. 😀
In today's edition:
Stockton Heath Festival 🥳
House of the week is back 🏠️
We want your opinions on taxis 💬🚕
Grab your favourite brew, and let's start. ☕️
P.S. As you probably know, today is Walking Day, so be prepared for the town to be busy and roads to be closed.

Today’s Sponsor is you! (Your ad could go here)
There has been quite a lot of interest in ads following my last email (thank you), with many wanting to place an ad and slots being filled up over the next few weeks.
If you’ve got something worth shouting about, such as an event, a deal, a service, stick it in here, not on the back page of something no one reads.
Link directly to your socials, booking page, or the landing page you want them to read.

Stockton Heath Festival 🎤📖 🎨

For one long weekend in the height of summer various local venues and the Festival Field welcome festival-goers interested in live music, dance, drama, comedy, theatre, an art exhibition, crafts and much, much more.

House of the Week. Shackleton Close, Old Hall. Offers Over £395,000

Every now and again we like to add a house of the week in. This is really popular with the readers.
Tucked next to parkland in Old Hall, this spacious 4-bed detached has everything a growing family needs. It features a modern kitchen, new radiators, cosy fireplace, and a converted garage ready for a home office or playroom. All bedrooms are doubles with fitted wardrobes, and there’s a stylish new en-suite and downstairs loo.
🛏 4 beds | 🛁 2 baths | 🏡 1,345 sq ft | 📍 WA5
🛠️ Kitchen 3 years old | 🔥 Boiler new in 2017 | 🚗 Driveway parking
Viewings by appointment with Ashtons.

From The Papers 📰
Here are some stories from around the town over the past few days that were not crime or politics (these are harder to find than you think!)
🥑 New Aldi superstore opens in Birchwood
After six months of building work, the upgraded Aldi at Birchwood Shopping Centre opens its doors yesterday. The store has doubled in size and now takes over the old Argos units.
⚡️ Pagazzi closing down at Junction Nine
Pagazzi Lighting at Junction Nine Retail Park is shutting up shop with a 50% off closing down sale. The store, open since 2017, will be replaced by furniture chain ScS. A new mezzanine is being added before the unit officially changes hands.
🤔 A Gas Mask Goes Missing
A replica WWII gas mask on loan from Warrington Museum was accidentally sold by St Rocco’s charity shop during a Stockton Heath Festival treasure hunt.

Your Thoughts on Taxis in Warrington 🤔 🚕
I saw an article on Cheshire Live about how our towns are being swarmed by drivers from Wolverhampton (mainly Ubers). I thought I would put this out there in a poll for you to share your thoughts.
Do you use local taxis or uber? |
