Warrington’s Best Bits This Week – What’s On? 🗓️

History, cake, and a packed events list—don’t miss out.

Good morning, Warrington. Mike here. This is The Warrington Scoop.

It’s amazing what a bit of sunshine can do—everyone seemed in a better mood on Saturday when the sun finally made an appearance. Did you make the most of it?

We headed to Walton Gardens Artisan Market, which was packed with great stalls, and walked along the Bridgewater Canal to soak up the good weather. If you missed it, you can check out both on Instagram.

Now, let’s see what’s happening this week…

In today's edition:

  • Craft and Flea Market Comes to Warrington 🛍️

  • Heritage Afternoon Tea (Hosted by The Mayor) ☕️ 🍰

  • What’s On This Week 🗓️

Grab your favourite brew, and let's start. ☕️

Craft & Flea Comes to Warrington 🛍️

Craft & Flea is coming to Warrington this weekend, Sunday the 9th of March, bringing a mix of independent makers, designers, and vintage collectors to Parr Hall.

Expect everything from ceramics and candles to jewellery and homeware—all from local traders. It’s a great chance to support small businesses and find something unique. £2.50 entry, under-12s go free.

An Afternoon of History & Tea at Warrington Town Hall ☕️ 🍰

If you love local history and a good afternoon tea, this one’s for you. On Friday 7th March (2:30pm - 4pm), historian Zoe Chaddock from the Culcheth Local History Group will be sharing the fascinating – and almost forgotten – story of an 1851 murder in Lower Bank Street.

At the time, it made national headlines, but today, most people in Warrington have never heard of it. Zoe will take you through how she stumbled upon the case, the investigation, and what happened next.

Tickets are £15, which includes a classic afternoon tea with sandwiches and cake—because history is always better with a brew.

It’s all happening at Warrington Town Hall, and if you fancy a mix of true crime and local history with a side of cake, this could be a great way to spend an afternoon.
