Golden Square has a proper fashion boutique this week, with The Edit opening its doors in the town centre. Known for bringing Parisian-chic style at high street prices, it's built up a loyal following across the North West, with shops already in Altrincham, Knutsford, Didsbury and Alderley Edge, and now Warrington's been added to the list.

It's a real vote of confidence in the town centre too, another well-regarded name choosing Warrington as it keeps drawing in more shops, more choice and more reasons to spend the day in town. With 17,000 followers online and a big local reputation, it's one plenty of you will already know.

Speaking of good news… we got sent this from Golden Square last night. Warrington is also getting a Rituals (something my wife was very excited about). Golden Square confirmed the popular wellbeing and cosmetics brand is on its way, another sign of the town centre pulling in some big names lately.

Don’t forget, Warrington Oktoberfest is back on at the Parr Hall on the 9th and 10th of October. It wasn’t on last year, so this is your reminder to get your tickets. It is run by Warrington Rotary Club, with the money going towards a great cause.

🎉 Exciting one for families. A brand new role-play café called Lotties is on the way to The Hive in Warrington, a fun space where little ones can play, learn and use their imagination. It's still under construction with an opening planned for 2026, and the team are asking local families what they'd love to see

🏃 Don’t forget it’s Warrington Running Festival on Sunday, so there are some road closures around town that you might want to know about.

🪴 Sky Garden is hosting its annual Harvest Festival on Saturday 19th September from 10:30am to 12:30pm. Pick fresh produce to take home and learn about the mission to bring nature into the heart of Warrington town centre. To find Sky Garden, head to the Golden Square car park, take the lift or stairs to level 3.

🎤 Comedy favourite Sue Perkins is heading to Warrington next year. You'll know her from Bake Off, Taskmaster and Just A Minute, and she's bringing her stand-up show The Eternal Shame of Sue Perkins to Parr Hall on 11th March, promising plenty of laughs and behind-the-scenes stories.

FA Cup football comes to town this Saturday, and it's a proper day out for all the family. Warrington Town host South Liverpool at the GXO Stadium (WA4 2RS), 3pm kick-off, with a place in the next round on the line.

Tickets are £13 for adults and just £3 for under-16s, or pay on the gate, so a full family afternoon out won't break the bank. Get the kids down, and cheer the Yellows into the next round. Tickets available at: https://warringtontownfc.co.uk/tickets/

Well… last week’s house was very popular with you. I think it was the most clicked feature we have ever done. I think it was the fact that the house backed onto the canal?

This week we're in Thelwall, where this recently refurbished three-bedroom dormer bungalow on Prestbury Drive is on the market for £450,000. Beautifully finished and in a quiet spot, it backs right onto the Manchester Ship Canal for a lovely waterside outlook.

🌟 Well done to Brook Acre Community Primary in Padgate, which has been awarded 'Centre of Excellence' status by the Inclusion Quality Mark, the only national inclusion award for schools in the UK. The report praised its inclusive curriculum and commitment to the whole child. (Warrington Guardian)

🚸 A petition for a safe pedestrian crossing at the 'dangerous' Greyhound Roundabout on the A580 near Glazebury has passed 650 signatures, with MP Jo Platt backing it. Residents say the lack of a crossing cuts them off from Bents and nearby communities. (Warrington Guardian)

🏔️ A great effort from Bruche Athletic's U21s, who are climbing Snowdon on October 4th for Cancer Research in honour of the mum of three of their players, who's been diagnosed with cancer. (Warrington Guardian)
