🙏 Cheshire Natural Health in Stretton has raised concerns about proposed parking changes by Warrington Borough Council. The plans would remove on-street parking outside the clinic, which could make it harder for clients to visit and have a knock-on effect on nearby businesses. They’ve started a petition to ask for a fairer solution.

An Evening With Astronaut Tim Peake in Warrington 🚀

Tim Peake is bringing his live show Astronauts: The Quest To Explore Space to Warrington on Thursday 24 September 2026.

It’s a chance to hear first-hand stories from space, covering everything from life in orbit to how astronauts train, think, and cope under pressure. Tim also shares stories from other astronauts and how space travel has changed over time, backed up with real footage and honest insight.

Tickets are on sale now, starting at £36.50 plus fees.

We visit Cafe at the End of The Universe 🍔

Cafe at the end of the universe has been around since 2017 (starting in the temporary market) and is a favourite among Warrington locals.

They do some amazing burgers, with my favourite (and many of yours) being the Kevin Bacon Burger - double beef patty, smoked bacon, cheese, fried onions, BBQ pulled pork, bacon jam, baconnaise, bacon frazzles, all enclosed in a seeded brioche bun.

What’s also great is they serve kids' meals for £5, which is great in the cost-of-living crisis.

If you are in the market and haven’t tried them, please give them a go, as the food is great, and business is hard right now in the hospitality industry. If you have a sweet tooth, don’t forget they also own Dark Side of the Spoon, which is in the market and makes amazing cakes and desserts.

They also do 2 food challenges….. one at each location. There is a link to a video of a famous YouTuber, Beard Meats Food, attempting one of them here, when they were at the temporary market.

If you end up trying it out, let them know you heard about them in the Scoop! Give them a follow on Facebook and Instagram.

What are your hopes for Warrington in 2026?

This week, we asked some locals in the town centre what their hopes and aspirations for Warrington are this coming year. Feel free to share your hopes and wishes for Warrington by replying to this email.

Emma (Moved to Warrington from St Helens)

You know what I’d like to see more of? Outdoor events through spring and summer. Warrington always feels better when something’s happening, even if it’s small. The food festival at Bank Park was amazing last year, but some more outdoor live music would be great. I am also a big bookshop fan and still remember when there was a massive Borders on the Riverside Retail Park; it would be good to see more independent bookshops.

Mark (Lived in Warrington all his life)

I’d really like to see more green spaces looked after and used more, but I know the council have their challenges. We’re lucky to have some lovely places, and it’d be nice to see more benches, or maybe the odd event here and there. Sometimes you forget how nice they are until you actually sit down and spend time in them.

Josh (College student)

I’d love to see more places staying open later in the evening, especially around town. After college, everything feels like it shuts just as you’re thinking about doing something… cafés or some more places just to hang out. And maybe something fun like an arcade? I went to the one in Bury (and it was class). Something like that in Warrington would be amazing and would give people our age somewhere to actually go. The younger generation doesn’t drink as much, so something different than pubs would be good.

What do you think of this section?

We’re trying something new with these little “voices of Warrington” bits, and I’d love to know what you think.

Warrington Wordle 🧠

We are back with street names again today. Finding short street names around town is hard work…. anything more than 6 letters and it won’t make the Wordle any fun for you.

As always… let me know how you get on by replying to this email.

Thanks 👍️
