Good morning, Warrington. Mike here. This is The Warrington Scoop.
Some of you are on half term from today and the rest from next week. Hit reply and tell me what you’re planning, because the best ideas might make next Monday’s half term guide.
Grab your favourite brew, and let's get into it. ☕️
Sponsored by Warrington Town
Warrington Town are back at the GXO Stadium on Saturday 24th October to take on Gainsborough Trinity, with kick-off at 3pm.
Adult tickets are £13, concessions are £9 and under-16s are just £3 when you book online, or you can pay at the turnstile (cash only).
Not sure what a day out at the Town is really like? We made a video to show you, so have a watch and then go and see for yourself.
The GXO Stadium is on Common Lane, Latchford, WA4 2RS.

🏃 I went to Park Run on Saturday, and then headed down to Move Eat Repeat down at Number 9 on Sunday. It got me thinking about all the little social running clubs we have across town, so I put together this little guide with them all in.
🚗 Who’s travelled over the Mersey Flow and forgot to pay their toll? Or who just travels over it a lot….. then this meme might be for you 🤣

🪂 Warrington Golf Club's Captain Peter and Lady Captain Barbara are taking on a sponsored wing walk this Wednesday, 21st October, to raise money for Kidneys for Life and St Rocco's Hospice. Wish them a clear sky, and if you'd like to chip in you can sponsor them here.
🍳 Grumpy Northern Foodie has been to try the breakfast at the Sloop Inn on Old Liverpool Road, and he loved the idea of the Sloop Cafe. We've only heard good things about it too, so if you fancy a cooked breakfast out this week, it could be worth a visit.
🏆 Congratulations to Bates Farm, who were finalists at the British Farming Awards in Birmingham, shortlisted for Small/Medium Diversification of the Year. They didn't take home the trophy, but they got to share a room with Jeremy Clarkson and Kaleb Cooper, and a nomination is a big achievement.
🏓 Pickleball is booming at Stockton Heath Tennis Club, where more than 100 members now play. The club runs friendly social sessions for all abilities and says more taster sessions are coming soon, so keep an eye on its pickleball page if you fancy a go.
🍺 Jeremy Clarkson's Hawkstone lager is proving a hit at Austins on St Austins Lane, which says it sold 30 pints in a day and that it's now their most popular pint.
🎯 Darts star Stephen Bunting has been back for another visit to Choy Hing Village on Knutsford Road in Grappenhall. The team say it was a pleasure to have him.
What’s on this week 🗓

I thought I would add this to let you know about an event I would personally go to this weekend. I’ve been to the brewery open day about 4 or 5 times, and it’s always a good day out.
