Episode 5 of the Warrington Scoop Podcast is Out Now
We’ve got a new podcast out this week, recorded in The Outset’s brilliant new podcast studio. We had a chat with Kirsty James, who runs TEDxWarrington, about what goes into making the event happen and what you can expect if you attend (more on that below as well)
Our featured business is Mamars Bakery, and Sonia joined us to share how it all started and why it’s become a Warrington favourite.
Have a listen when you get a minute, as it’s celebrating all things good about what’s going on around town. It’s available here on all your favourite podcast apps.

TEDxWarrington is Back For 2025

We’re lucky to have something as inspiring as a TEDx event right here in Warrington. TEDxWarrington is back for 2025 with a brand-new theme, Identity & Purpose, and this year it will take place at the Warrington Youth Zone.
The event takes place on Tuesday, 2nd December, from 5:00 pm to 9:00 pm. You can see the full list of speakers at tedxwarrington.com/tedxwarrington-2025 and grab your tickets at tedxwarrington.com/tickets.
If you’ve never been to one before, TEDx events are local, self-organised gatherings that follow the same idea sharing spirit as the main TED events. Each one brings people together to watch TEDx talks and performances at a live event before they become TEDx videos. TED provides the guidance, but every TEDx has its own local flavour, and TEDxWarrington is ours.

The Christmas light switch on is back 🎄

Warrington’s Christmas lights are finally being switched back on after six years. It’s happening on Saturday, 15th November in Golden Square with live music, Santa, and CBBC’s Hacker the Dog pressing the button. There will be songs from Wicked, Matilda, Mamma Mia, and The Greatest Showman, plus a big Santa-oke at the end.
It kicks off Warrington Unwrapped, with Christmas markets, Bar Hütte’s karaoke huts, the Grinch grotto at Time Square, and plenty more on the way. Christmas in town is properly back.

Brewery tap open day next weekend 🍺

If you’ve been meaning to check out the 4Ts Brewery Taproom, this is your reminder (as I keep forgetting, but I am hoping to make this one).
They’re open again on Friday 14th and Saturday 15th November, from 2pm to 9pm both days.
There will be a wide selection of cask and keg options to choose from. The taproom always has a friendly crowd, proper local atmosphere, and this time they’ve got food from Pixis serving up tasty Jamaican dishes to keep everyone fed.
Check out their Facebook page for more updates.

Road closures you need to know about 🛑
Warrington will pause to remember this Sunday as the annual Remembrance service takes place at the cenotaph on Bridge Foot.
8am – 12noon
Road closures will be in place across the town centre, including the full closure of Bridge Foot, with no access to Riverside Retail Park, Wharf Industrial Estate or Tanning Court Industrial Estate
9am – 12noon
Road closures around Queen’s Gardens – inclusive of Sankey Street, Legh Street (from junction of Bath Street to Sankey Street), Springfield Street, Palmyra Square South, Palmyra Square North, Bold Street, Suez Street, Rylands Street and Barbauld Street

What would you like to see happen to this part of town?
It’s such a shame what has become of this end of town. I know we focus on the positive things happening around town, but this isn’t a good look when people are driving into town or around Bridge Foot
What would you like to see happen with it? It’s already earmarked to become 18 or so flats, with retail underneath…… but if you could change it what would you do?
There are technical difficulties adding Instagram videos into the newsletter today (out of my hands), but click the image below for the full video.

Warrington Wordle 🧠
Today's Wordle is a five-letter word. No clues today, once you have a few letters, it will all become clear…….
As always, let me know how you get on by replying to this email.

Thanks 👍️
