Here are some positive stories from around the town over the past few days.
🥳 Slidie Sliderson, a new indoor slide park at Cockhedge Shopping Centre, is now set to open mid-May 2026 after missing its original February opening date. The attraction is being launched by Rocafella Leisure Group and is expected to attract around 150,000 visitors a year while creating 35–40 jobs. (Warrington Guardian)
🇭🇰 An estimated 6,000 Hong Kong residents now live in Warrington, according to property agent Jerry Fong, who helps buyers move to the UK. He says the town is popular due to job opportunities, good transport links to Manchester and Liverpool, lower living costs than Hong Kong, strong schools and relatively affordable housing. (Warrington Worldwide)
☕️ A new Forget Me Not dementia café will launch in Winwick Community Centre on Myddleton Lane, running every Thursday from 10am to midday. The weekly group will offer support, conversation and activities for people living with dementia and their carers. (Warrington Worldwide)

🦅 Wild Wings Birds of Prey Rescue says it may have to relocate within the next three years after being told its lease at Taylor Business Park will not be renewed long-term. The volunteer-run centre, which has rescued more than 2,000 birds over 17 years, is now asking for help finding a new site or support to secure its future.
🍽️ We noticed that Friars Court has posted on their socials about Friars Court Kitchen coming soon, which sounds great.
👮 Have you ever been to the Museum of Policing in Cheshire? It’s only in town (inside the police station). The team was recently honoured at Warrington Town Hall after receiving The King’s Award for Voluntary Service.
🌲 If you live in Lymm, organisers need your help. Lymm Open Gardens could be cancelled this year unless more residents volunteer to open their gardens on Sunday 21st June 2026. The event is part of Lymm Festival, attracts around 500 visitors and raises money for St Rocco’s Hospice
Lymm Duck Race 🦆

The Lymm Duck Race returns on Easter Monday 6th April 2026, starting at 12.30pm, and it’s always a popular event with families in the village. Tickets cost £2, with 1,000 plastic ducks racing down the Dingle for prizes of £150, £75 and £50. There will also be games and refreshments on the day, making it a great community day out.
Afternoon Disco Party 🥳

We came across this and thought you might like it…….If you still enjoy a good party but prefer to be home before midnight (who doesn’t), this Retro Disco Party at Grappenhall Ex-Servicemen’s Club might be just the thing.
What’s On This Week🗓️
Don’t forget about the ticket offer that Warrington Wolves are offering for Scoop readers for Saturday’s match against the Castleford Tigers.
