Good morning, Warrington. Mike here. This is The Warrington Scoop, the newsletter that's like an extra hour in bed. Which is handy, because that's exactly what we all get on Sunday morning when the clocks go back at 2am.
So what are you doing with yours? Hit reply and let us know.
Grab your favourite brew, and let's start. ☕
The Rabbit Hole, Stockton Heath

Whenever my wife and I head into Stockton Heath, we always like to pop into the Rabbit Hole, which is a lovely independent gift shop on London Road.
But……whereabouts is the Rabbit Hole in Stockton Heath, I hear you ask? Well…. it’s literally just over the swing bridge as you head into the village on your left hand side. You can’t miss it as you drive through. From the centre near the traffic lights, it’s about a 1 minute walk at the most.
I’ve been in and spoken to the owner, David, a few times, and he’s always so helpful. Inside you'll find cards, gifts, chocolate, candles, jewellery, bags, artwork and loads of other stuff. With Christmas on the way, they've got secret Santa gifts, stocking fillers, Christmas cards and gift wrapping too.

I made a video last year that shows it off the shop.
They've got another shop in Culcheth too, which has been open for many years, but the one in Stockton Heath has only been open for about a year, so it's still getting known.
If you head down over the next few weeks, please let them know you heard about them in the Scoop 😀

🍺 After 18 years as landlord of the Lord Rodney, Ray Fisher has retired from the pub on Winwick Road, and it's now in the hands of new tenants, Blind Tiger Inns, who run 22 other pubs across the North West. It's closed for a refurb and reopens on Friday 30th October. Ray says thank you to all his customers over the years, many of whom became friends.
🍔 The White Hart has a new menu, which includes small plates like Nashville hot wings and smoky brisket tacos, a Steak Stone where you cook your steak on a super-heated volcanic rock, and a cheese and onion pie made with the Great Northern Pie Company.
🍬 Naughty Nibbles by Lady Lou is opening a new shop in Woolston on Saturday 24th of October at 10am, selling all the good stuff she has been selling in the Nibble Nest with coffee and other stuff as well.

Last Friday's word was Hulme, and you did not disappoint. Roger finally got it in one (he said "at last!"), Denise had it in four, and Cristi got it in five without even peeking at the clue. Today's word has another Warrington connection, so have a proper think before your first guess, then reply and tell me how many goes it took.
Clue at the bottom of the email if you need it.
House of the week 🏠
Every week I go looking for a house that's a bit different, and this is the one that caught my eye.
It's a Grade II listed fustian cottage on Arley Grove in Lymm, and it's unique for two reasons. First, it's part of a terrace built in the early 19th century for fustian cutters, who worked in a long room at the top of the house. Second, it has a living room that runs the full length of the second floor, which is flooded with natural light, so it sounds a lot like the old workroom.
Downstairs there's a sitting room and a kitchen with room to eat, with two bedrooms on the first floor. There are exposed beams, feature fireplaces and traditional woodwork throughout, plus a private garden and no onward chain.
It's on for offers over £320,000, and the price was reduced in September. Have a look here on Rightmove.
