New bar, neon night walk + over 20 things to do this week
Plus: From the papers and results from last weeks poll
Good morning, Warrington. Mike here. This is The Warrington Scoop.
There’s always something new popping up in town and I’ve pulled together a few things worth knowing about. Settle in for a quick read before the day gets going.
In today’s Scoop:
New musical theatre bar opening 🎭️
Neon night walk 🚶♀️
Lots on this week 🗓️
Grab your favourite brew, and let's start. ☕️

Play Footgolf at T1 Golf Sports Village This Summer ⚽️

Sponsored by T1 Golf Sports Village
If you’re looking for something to do over the summer holidays, footgolf at T1 Golf is well worth a go. It’s just £5 per person and a good way to get the kids (and grown-ups) outside for a bit.
They also have:
Two brand new padel courts
An indoor football pitch
A newly opened carp fishing lake
A cafe serving food all day
Footgolf has been really popular. If you pop down, tell them you saw it in The Warrington Scoop.

🎭 New Musical Theatre Bar Opening in Warrington 🍹

We have mentioned this before, but Poppins now has an opening date!
Pop-Inns is a musical theatre bar with drama and drag and daiquiris. The grand opening is set for Friday 22nd August.
The team has plans for performances and themed nights and bottomless drink deals once things get rolling. This is the first venue of its kind in the town and it looks set to be a lively one.
Follow them on Instagram for updates.

Neon Night Walk 🚶♀️

There’s a Neon Night Walk happening in Warrington on Saturday 13th September and it sounds like a lot of fun. It’s 80s themed to celebrate St. Rocco’s 40th anniversary and it starts and finishes at the Halliwell Jones Stadium.
You can walk 5K or go round twice if you’re feeling up for it. Think leg warmers, glow sticks and the brightest gear you can find. It’s open to all ages, costs £15 for adults and £12 for kids, and you’ll get a t-shirt and medal for taking part.
The event opens at 6:30pm and the walk sets off at 8pm. You can sign up now to make sure you get the Neon Night Walk t-shirt before they run out.

From The Papers 📰
Here are some positive stories from around the town over the past few days.
🚆 Pete Waterman's popular model railway exhibition to run through holidays (Warrington Guardian)
🏘️ Mum wins £4m Cheshire mansion after husband first thought they'd won sausages (Warrington Guardian)
😀 New date for installation of ‘Angel of the North-size’ art sculpture beside M62 (Warrington Guardian)

Results From Last Week’s Poll 📊
Last week, we ran a poll regarding the new bin that we will all be getting to get rid of food waste.
The results are in, and it looks like most people are in favour of it, with the main concern being where they are meant to store another bin.
