Good morning, Warrington. Mike here. This is The Warrington Scoop.

Right then, new week, new Scoop. Here's everything you need to know about what's going on around Warrington this week.

Grab your favourite brew, and let's start.

If your kitchen is looking a bit tired but a full replacement feels like too much hassle, Dream Doors offer a brilliant alternative. They replace just the doors, worktops and handles, transforming the look of your kitchen in just 2 to 3 days and for up to 50% less than a full refit.

Until 30th September, they're also offering a free oven and hob worth £600 with every kitchen makeover. Dream Doors are based at 92 Knutsford Road in Grappenhall and are rated 9.7 out of 10 on Checkatrade. Give them a call on 01925 211308 for a free estimate.

Check out their website, Facebook and Instagram.

Did you get a chance to listen to our latest podcast episode last week? It’s smashed all our podcast records and is by far our most popular episode to date. It’s all about Warrington Castle, and you can listen to it here on YouTube.

Here are some positive stories from around the town over the past few days.

🎪 Croft Carnival took place over the weekend and by all accounts it was a brilliant day. Hundreds of residents lined the streets to watch a procession of decorated floats, tractors and fancy dress participants before the fun continued at Croft Playing Fields with market stalls, rides and live entertainment. (Warrington Worldwide)

👣 The McKeown family kept the spirit of Warrington Walking Day alive on Friday, as five sisters and their brother took to the streets with three traditional pipers and around three dozen community walkers, following the classic route through the town centre from Bank Park. (Warrington Worldwide)

🏨 Plans to transform the long-derelict Fifty Three Degrees North nightclub on Bridge Street have been approved. The building, which has stood empty since 2016, will be converted into four ground floor retail units and 25 hotel rooms across the upper floors. (Warrington Guardian)

Disability Awareness Day

One of Warrington's biggest annual events is back at Walton Hall Gardens. Disability Awareness Day is the world's largest voluntary-led disability exhibition, with over 300 exhibitor spaces, accessible sports to try including scuba diving and wheelchair basketball, live entertainment in the Main Arena, a Performing Arts Marquee, Silent Disco, arts and crafts and a brand new fully accessible canal boat on the Bridgewater Canal. A brilliant free day out for the whole family. Find out more here.

What would you like to see where Hancock and Wood are?

It’s sad to see Hancock and Wood closing down in the town centre after it being such a big independent shop for so long.

What business would work where it is? Let us know in the poll below.

Thanks 👍
