Good morning, Warrington. Mike here. This is The Warrington Scoop.

Depending on how old you are (or if you are new to the area), you might not know that Warrington used to be part of Lancashire, and not Cheshire. In 1974, the boundaries got changed, but my Dad always referred to himself as a Lancashire lad. I still know a few people who still put Lancashire on their postal address as well!

Anyway, grab your favourite brew, and let's start.

P.S. The Scoop turns 2 today…. which is a big milestone! At roughly 2 emails a week, thats roughly 208 Scoops sent, and hopefully makes your time in Warrington that little bit better 😀

I’ve been chatting with Lorna from DecKing recently, and if you’re thinking about improving your garden this year, they’re well worth speaking to. Whether it’s bespoke decking, fencing, gates, pergolas or a complete outdoor transformation, the team has completed some fantastic projects across Warrington and the surrounding area.

Take a look at some of their recent work on YouTube, or visit DecKing.Group to generate an instant quotation or book a free local site visit.

🍺 Does anyone know what’s happening with the Black Horse Pub in Sankey Bridges? It shut down in maybe 2019/2020, but recently there has been work going on. Some comments say it’s opening in a few months, but if you know any different, please let us know. It would be great to see it reopen as a proper pub again.

We got caught out by the swing bridge in Stockton Heath this week….. always at the time when we need to be somewhere as well 🤣

Today’s answer is a good one….. It’s not 100% Warrington, but that’s all I can say. Some of you might not like it, but as usual, let me know how you get on.

Thanks 👍
