🎙️ The Warrington Scoop Podcast Episode 3

This week we sat down with Megan from Activity Angels to talk about the work they do in Warrington. Activity Angels help reduce loneliness and social isolation by bringing people together through fun and positive activities. Megan shared how it all started, the impact they are making, and the events they have lined up.

We are also including their September events calendar so you can see what is coming up and maybe join in yourself. On top of that we had a good chat about what else is happening around Warrington next week.

👟 Hope 100 Walk – Saturday 6 September, 11am

This Saturday, Warrington comes together for the Hope 100 Walk, marking World Suicide Prevention Day. It’s more than a stroll around Victoria Park, it’s a chance to connect, reflect, and show support for better conversations around mental health.

Two routes are on offer, a 10km or a 5km, with everyone setting off after arrival at 10.30am. Walk in silence, share stories, or just enjoy being alongside others who care about the same cause.

Minimum age for solo walkers is 18, with 12–17 year-olds welcome if accompanied by an adult.

🕊️ Warrington Peace Festival – Saturday 6 September, 10am–4:30pm

This weekend sees the return of Warrington’s Peace Festival, hosted by Peace & Mind UK and the Brianna Ghey Legacy Project. It’s a family-friendly day built around mindfulness, connection and community. Expect yoga sessions, meditation workshops, live music, children’s activities and an indoor marketplace.

Tickets are just £10, with under-16s going free with a paying adult. More than 650 people have already clicked “interested” on Facebook, so it’s shaping up to be one of the busiest community events of the month.
