The Trust was established in memory of Alice Hiley and works to improve outcomes for neonatal babies across the North West, supporting vital equipment, services and projects that make a real difference to families. We are about to donate life changing equipment to Warrington neonatal unit.

Enjoy live performances from Hannah Bailey and Jake Liken, local artists, musical bingo, professional photos and lots of fun, all while helping us continue this important work.

Good news for what was the old Fifty Three Degrees (or IF TH T) as it’s called at the moment, with the few letters that are left of the sign. This has been empty for so long, that we can’t remember, but it’s good to see someone buying it and giving it a new lease of life. It mentions it will be turned into mixed-use, and we will keep you updated if we hear anything else.

☀ While out one morning, we captured the sunrise along Manchester Road, which looked really moody with a nice orange colour.

🐶 Wednesday was international dog day and we had loads of submissions from you sharing your pictures of your dogs from across Warrington.

🚗 Heads up if you use Mill Lane in Winwick. The road will be fully closed from 6am on Tuesday 1st September until Sunday 6th September to allow roundabout construction work to continue. Plan an alternative route and allow extra time, especially as schools go back the same week!

🛍️ L.E.T.S Cafe at Hudsons in Whitemoss Garden Centre are hosting their first ever L.E.T.S Show Off this Saturday from 10am, bringing together local makers with handmade gifts, crafts and unique creations.

Neighbourhood Weekender are announcing an update today at 5pm (we think on who is headlining next year) and it’s quite a big clue 🤣

🏃 Warrington Youth Zone's One More Lap event is back and they're looking for teams to sign up. Last year they raised over £32,000, the equivalent of 32,000 free hot meals for young people, all from running laps in a field. All abilities welcome, from beginners to seasoned runners. 🍔 We were invited along to test out Bob & Bert’s which opened in the middle of town in the Old Fish Market. My wife went along and ordered one of the Acai bowls (these seem to be popular right now). They serve loads of burgers, sandwiches and breakfasts etc. Judging from what people are saying, this will be a great addition to the town.

☕ As well as Bob & Berts opening which we mentioned above, Black Sheep Coffee also opened in the old fish market square (you might remember they were meant to open years ago in the Hive). When we passed on the opening day, it was very busy.

🍺 Two beer events caught our eye this week. Culcheth Beer Festival is back on Friday 18th and Saturday 19th September at the Village Club on Wigshaw Lane, with 24 real ales, draught cider, live music and hot food for just £5 entry. Find out more at culchethbeerfestival.com

And if you fancy something a bit different, Lymm Oktoberfest is coming on 17th October, organised by Lymm and District Round Table, with 6 beers and an oompah band. Tickets coming soon, keep an eye on their Facebook page!

😢 Warrington is paying tribute to Grappenhall-born actor Tim Curry, who has passed away aged 80. One of the most iconic actors of his generation, Tim's career spanned over fifty years with unforgettable roles in The Rocky Horror Picture Show, IT, Legend and many more. A true legend who many locals didn't even realise grew up right here in Warrington. (Warrington Guardian)

💗 Four Zumba instructors at Orford Jubilee Livewire are hosting a charity Zumbathon on 10th October between 12.30pm and 3.30pm, raising money for Breast Cancer Now. They're also looking for local businesses to donate raffle prizes. (Warrington Guardian)

💙 A brilliant initiative in Warrington. Barbers from across the town have completed specialist training to help support men's mental health, so next time you're in the chair for a trim, your barber might just be the person who helps you open up. (Warrington Council)

Sometimes we don’t know whether to pick a REALLY expensive house (as it’s always good to have a nosey at nice houses isn’t it), or pick a house that is more within everyone’s budget 😆

Anyway, here is today’s house of the week.
