Lymm Festival, Steam Trains and Stuff Worth Knowing

TOGETHER WITH

Good morning, Warrington. Mike here. This is The Warrington Scoop. How are you today? It’s looking like we are set for a lovely weekend ☀️ , and I hope there is something in this email that helps you get a little more out of Warrington this weekend.

Grab your favourite brew (or beer, as it’s sunny and beer garden weather) and let's start. ☕️ 🍺

P.S If you don’t follow us on Instagram, can you give the account a follow, please? The aim is to get to 10k followers by the end of the year to help promote the positive stuff around town.

From The Papers 📰

Here are some positive stories from around the town over the past few days.

🍔🎯 Luke Littler visits Omega McDonald’s
Luke Littler made a stop at the McDonald’s in Warrington this week to film an advert for their new Big Arch Burger. Staff and customers were buzzing to see him, and he didn’t disappoint. He called the burger “proper tasty” and gave the new sauce a big thumbs up. The place was full of smiles, and the video should be out soon.

🚴‍♂️ Luke’s Triathlon Challenge
Luke Jones, 11, is doing a triathlon to raise £5,000 for dyslexia-friendly books in Warrington schools. He’ll swim, cycle, and run on July 12, all to help other kids enjoy reading like he does now.

🚂 Steam Train at Bank Quay
A steam-hauled train will leave Warrington Bank Quay on Sunday 13 July as part of the modern railway’s 200th anniversary. The North Wales Coast Express heads to Chester, Llandudno, and Holyhead, pulled by the 90-year-old Black 5 No. 45212. A chance to enjoy a bit of rail history on the move.

Lymm Festival 🎉

Lymm Festival is running at the moment, all the way from the 19th (yesterday) until the 29th, and it’s full of all sorts of things to do.

This weekend, there’s a lot happening, and you can check out the full list of events here, as there are too many for me to list in this email.

New Bar Opening in Town 🍸️

Pop-Inns is set to open on Cairo Street this summer, bringing musical theatre, live performances, drag nights, and themed cocktails to the town centre. It’s being billed as Warrington’s first bar of its kind, with velvet seats, glitter, and a playlist full of show tunes.
