Charles went down to speak to Daz, who runs Warrior Muay Thai, this month.

Daz is doing great stuff for the town by running free sessions 3 times a week to stop children from being bored over the summer holidays. We thought this was such an amazing thing to do, and you can find out more about it in our podcast.

🎸 Have you been to Tank Bar in town? They are on Cairo Street in the Hive, and from the outside it looks small…. but downstairs they have an amazing live music venue. Owen, who runs it (a local lad), invited us down to check it out.

🕊 This was just a bit of fun, but we noticed other people doing a day in the life of a pigeon, so we decided to make a video about the day in the life of a Warrington pigeon.

🎯 The Luke Littler artwork was unveiled on Thursday on the side of the Golden Square car park, and we think it’s a great addition to the town. Luke was in town himself doing a Q&A as well.

⚔️ The Vikings are coming to Wild Wings Birds of Prey Centre on 1st and 2nd August from 10am to 4pm. There'll be a living Viking village encampment, weapon and combat displays, have-a-go archery, Viking storytelling and the bird of prey centre.

👨‍🍳 A brand new Family Cooking Summer Workshop is launching this August, running every Friday throughout the month at various session times from 10am. It's aimed at HAF eligible families, with one child and one parent or guardian cooking together, learning new recipes and building kitchen confidence.

🖊️ We've bumped into Bari Marsh a few times at local markets and even picked up one of his drawings ourselves. He's a brilliant bloke and his work is stunning. Bari is holding a one-man exhibition at The Gateway on Sankey Street from 21st September to 2nd October, featuring over 100 original pen and ink drawings of local scenes at £25 each.

🌍 Legendary traveller and Monty Python star Michael Palin is coming to Parr Hall on Tuesday 13th October. He'll be sharing stories from his latest journey across the Philippines, plus memories from nearly 40 years of travelling the world for television.

🎉 Encounter Fest is a free community afternoon taking place this Friday 31st July from 1pm to 4pm at the Encounter Centre on Benson Road in Birchwood. There's face painting, a football cage, circus skills, kids crafts, free refreshments and prizes to be won throughout the afternoon.

🐺 Great news for Wolves fans. Sam Burgess has confirmed he has agreed a new deal to stay on as Warrington Wolves head coach beyond 2026, with the contract agreed with owner Simon Moran. (Warrington Guardian)

🏫 Penketh Primary Academy has a new head teacher. Dr Rachel Burke has just completed her first full term at the Coniston Avenue school and by all accounts has settled in brilliantly, praising the warm community feel and the dedication of the staff. (Warrington Guardian)

🍺 The Spread Eagle on Eagle Brow in Lymm has reopened following a £186,000 refurbishment. The snug, taproom, bar and dining areas have all been refreshed while keeping that traditional village inn feel. (Warrington Guardian)

We had to include this house of the week, as it’s maybe the most expensive house we have seen in Warrington and it is one a reader sent this one in and we can see why. Parkin Manor Estate in Higher Walton is on the market for offers in excess of £9.5 million, and we'd love to know if there's ever been a more expensive house listed in the Warrington area?

Mercy is a sweet, affectionate girl who came into Cheshire Dogs home as a stray feeling very frightened and shut down. Thanks to the patience of the rescue team she’s slowly coming out of her shell, and once she trusts you she forms a truly lovely bond.

She needs a calm, patient family willing to take things at her pace and continue her confidence building journey.

A few things to know:

• Adult-only home only

• No other dogs or cats

• Can be wary around men, so adopters should be prepared for multiple visits before bringing her home

If you can give Mercy the patience and love she deserves, she’ll reward you with all the affection in the world
