There are 2 events happening this weekend where you could help out and make a difference.

1. Fairfield & Howley Litter Pick

Join the first litter pick of 2024 on Sunday, 26th January, starting at The Big Tree @ Cabul Close. Covering Cabul Estate, O’Leary St, and Marsh House Lane (time permitting), it’s a chance to get some fresh air, meet new people, and help the community. All equipment provided – just RSVP on the Facebook event.

2. Sankey Canal Work Party

Join the Sankey Canal Work Party on Saturday, 25th January, from 10am to 2pm at Newton Common! Help clear vegetation along the canal near Sankey Viaduct. Gloves, tools, and good company provided – just bring sturdy boots, old clothes, and a packed lunch. Let’s make a difference together! 🌿

Weather ⛅️ 

We’ve got a storm brewing this weekend, hopefully it won’t hit Warrington too hard. That being said, it will be wet and miserable.

  • Friday: Mostly cloudy with highs of 8°C and a chilly 1°C overnight. Wrap up warm if you’re heading out. ☁️

  • Saturday: Scattered showers during the day, with temperatures around 6°C, dropping to -1°C at night. 🌧️

  • Sunday: Rain showers throughout, with a high of 6°C and milder overnight temperatures at 4°C. 🌦️

Sport 🏉 

⚽️ Warrington Town secured a 1-0 victory over Stockport County to advance to the Cheshire Senior Cup quarter-finals. Matty McDonald’s late curling strike sealed the win after earlier drama saw Joe Rodwell-Grant’s penalty saved. The Yellows controlled much of the match and now face Crewe Alexandra in the next round.
