Comedy Night and What's On This Half Term

Plus the Weather, Sport and More....

Good morning, Warrington. This is The Warrington Scoop.

It’s half-term week! If you’ve got the kids at home, hopefully, you’ve got some plans lined up (or at least a strong coffee in hand). Park visits, soft play, or a quiet afternoon with a film—whatever gets you through. We’ve got a few ideas to help. Let’s see what’s happening around town.

In today's edition:

  • Comedy Night 🤣

  • IKEA Events 📆

  • What’s On This Week 🗓️

  • Plus the Weather, Sport and More….

Grab your favourite brew, and let's start. ☕️

P.S. Do you like our new logo and branding? It's a bit more fun, and it’s good to have the Warrington Colours back again 😁

Comedy Night Returns 🤣

Comedy Night Live returns to St Oswald’s Social Club, Padgate with a top lineup of professional comedians.

Kevin Finn (BGT 2024 semi-finalist), Laurence Tuck (inventively offbeat), and John Lebbon (naturally funny) bring the laughs, hosted by the brilliant Bobby Murdock.

📅 Saturday 22nd Feb | ⏰ Doors 7:15 PM, Show 8:15 PM 🎟️ Tickets £12 – Get them online, at the venue, or on the door.

What’s On at IKEA Warrington This Week? 🗓️ 🇸🇪

Did you know IKEA Warrington has events running all the time? If you’re heading there this week, here are a few we’d recommend checking out:

  • 🧵 Dreamcatcher Making – Get creative with pom-poms, feathers, and crafting materials to design your own dreamcatcher. (Tuesday, 10:00-16:00)

  • 📦 Bedtime Box Decorating – Personalise a storage box for bedtime essentials—books, soft toys, or pyjamas. (Wednesday, 11:00-16:00)

  • 🍹 Mocktail Station – Enjoy a refreshing alcohol-free treat with IKEA’s mocktail bar. Try a POÄNG-star Martini or a Flatpack Fizz. (Thursday, 12:00-16:00)

And of course, no IKEA trip is complete without grabbing a hot dog at the end—an absolute bargain.

This Week’s Warrington Weather ☁️🌧️

  • Monday ☁️ – A grey start to the week with cloudy skies and chilly temperatures of 4°C, dropping to 1°C overnight. Definitely a coat day!

  • Tuesday ☁️ – Another cloudy one, but slightly warmer at 6°C, dipping to 2°C later. Still no sign of sunshine, but at least it’s dry.

  • Wednesday 🌦️ – Rain showers arrive, and temperatures stay stuck at 7°C all day. Might be time to dig out the brolly.

  • Thursday 🌧️ – A warmer but wetter day, with rain showers and highs of 12°C, dropping slightly to 11°C overnight. A classic British spring preview—mild but damp.

Sport 🏉

⚽️ Warrington Town’s match against Spennymoor Town was postponed over the weekend.

🏉 Wire off to a flyer. Warrington Wolves kicked off the season with a hard-fought 20-12 win over Huddersfield Giants. Tries from Lindop, Ashton, King, and Dufty sealed the points, with Dufty’s late score easing some nerves. A solid start for Sam Burgess in charge—roll on next week.
