☀️ Blue Skies, Big Plans – It’s a Warrington Weekend
Plus: Yoga, crafts, live bands, pub quizzes, and perfect weather to match.
Good morning, Warrington. Mike here. This is The Warrington Scoop.
Can we just take a moment to appreciate the weather forecast for Saturday? Sunshine, blue skies, and not a rain cloud in sight. If that doesn’t scream “Get out and do something,” I don’t know what does.
This weekend’s got a bit of everything—quizzes, tribute nights, markets, dog walks, soul nights… even a Spice Girls party if you feel like zig-a-zig-ah’ing your way into April.
In today's edition:
🧠 Warrington Wordle returns
🗓️ A bumper weekend of local events
🐶 Dog walks, jumble sales, and boy bands
😎 And yep, the weather is looking 👌
Grab your favourite brew, and let's start. ☕️
P.S. The newsletter has almost 5000 subscribers; by the time you read it, it might have already passed that. Instagram is almost at 2000 as well (come and join us there if you haven’t already).

Warrington Wordle 🧠
A few of you emailed asking for the return of Warrington Wordle, so here it is. I will try and add one in every 3 to 4 editions for you.
The answer is something Warrington related.
Enjoy!

Litter Picking Success 👍️

On Tuesday, I decided to take part in the GBSC (Great British Spring Clean) litter picking event at Sankey Bridges.I also met 2 Warrington Scoop Readers (Hello, Louise and David 👋 ) who attended the event thanks to the reading about it in The Warrington Scoop, and it was great to meet Tony, who's in charge of the litter picking.
The guys that attend these litter picking events work so hard, and they are out there every week across Warrington (not just at the GBSC events above).
The group I was in managed to pick up 50 bags from 9:30am until 12pm, and other items that were too big for bags that got dragged over to the tip (bikes, TVs, chairs). It was crazy just how much litter was around Sankey Bridges.
The team went on to pick up another 36 bags from Forest Way. That’s 86 bags in one day alone.
If anyone wants to join one of the events, I am posting the calendar below again, but they are out litter-picking all the time outside these events. Get in touch, they will make you welcome and you will meet some great people.
There are a few more dates left for this weekend.

🚴♂️ 3 Peaks, 2 Wheels, 1 Man – All for Cancer Research
Warrington's very own adventure-loving grandad is back in the saddle – and this time, he's taking on over 2,000 miles and 11,000 feet of climbs to raise money for Cancer Research UK.
At 67, he's cycling solo from Warrington to Land’s End, climbing Snowdon, Scafell Pike, and Ben Nevis along the way, before heading up to John O’Groats and all the way back home. It's a huge challenge in memory of his brothers Ken and Gary, and in support of his sister Wendy, who is currently undergoing treatment for Leukaemia.
Follow his journey, get inspired, and chip in if you can. All donations go directly to Cancer Research UK.
