Good morning, Warrington. Mike here. This is The Warrington Scoop.
Did you see that thing in the sky over Warrington yesterday? It was yellow, a sort of round shape and made the place a bit warmer….. I think it’s the first time Warrington has seen the sun this year! Anyway, here’s your Monday Scoop 😄
In today’s Scoop:
66 things to do in Warrington 🗓️
House of the week 🏠️
The latest news from the papers (positive stuff only) 📰
Grab your favourite brew, and let's start. ☕️

From The Papers 📰
Here are some positive stories from around the town over the past few days, but it was a struggle to find stories this week.
🏥 Warrington South MP Sarah Hall says Warrington Hospital needs redevelopment, with A&E built for a much smaller population and now under heavy pressure. Plans include a new Urgent Treatment Centre to ease demand, followed by phased upgrades and long-term redevelopment to modernise facilities and improve care for local residents. (Warrington Guardian)
🛍️ Nisa Dallam has donated £1,500 to three local groups through its Making a Difference Locally fund. Surestart, Ace Badminton, and Winnington Park Rugby Club each received £500. The money will support community events, wellbeing activities, and opportunities for young people and residents across the Dallam area. (Warrington Worldwide)
🙋 The ‘Train Like a Pro’ programme at Warrington Youth Zone is helping young people at risk of anti-social behaviour through sport and mentoring. Backed by Sellafield Ltd, 44 participants have taken part, with many gaining qualifications and confidence. Some have gone on to become volunteer coaches and positive role models. (Warrington Guardian)

House of the Week 🏠️

I think you’ll really like this one. Tucked away on Georges Crescent, this three-bed semi has a stunning extended kitchen and dining space with underfloor heating and bi-fold doors to the garden. There’s a private garden, a driveway for four cars, and no onward chain. It’s on the market for £375,000.

This video, embedded below, sparked the most unexpected controversy over where the county lines are (over 180k views on Facebook and 125k on Instagram). The address says Widnes, but some say it’s Bold Heath, and others say it's St Helens. Anyway, we are getting a Hickory’s Smoke House just outside of Warrington.
