House of the Week 🏠

Sponsored by Declan James Estate Agents

This week's House of the Week is a proper showstopper. A traditional five bedroom detached on Higher Lane in Lymm, on the market with Declan James for £1 million. It is set back from the road behind wooden gates with parking for several cars, and inside there is a 22ft lounge with a wood burning stove, a huge kitchen and dining family room with french doors out to the garden, and a master bedroom with ensuite. The family bathroom alone has a roll top bath and a separate double shower.

If you have a spare million quid, this one is hard to beat.

Here are some positive stories from around the town over the past few days.

🏃 Lymm Runners have raised over £12,000 so far with their Goggins challenge, where runners completed four miles every four hours for 48 hours, covering a total of 2,144 miles between them. The money goes to The Walton Centre Charity and donations are still open. (Warrington Worldwide)

🏫 Sir Thomas Boteler CofE High School in Warrington has passed its latest Ofsted inspection under the tougher new framework, meeting expected standards across every area. Under the new system that is a genuinely strong result and the school were praised for brilliant relationships between staff and students, strong leadership and a proud school community. (Warrington Guardian)

🌟 Paige Osmond, a Health and Social Care student from Warrington, has been shortlisted for a national NCFE Aspiration Award in the Against All Odds category. As well as her studies she volunteers with Cubs and Explorers, supports the Mamatoto charity and helps serve food to community members at her church. (Warrington Worldwide)

📖 Firstly, a little shout-out of our own, which is about you! Last week, we posted a video and did a write-up here about Tell Tales Books. The response from the Scoop readers was amazing, so THANK YOU for showing people the power of the Scoop! Please see her comments below. If you’re a business that wants to be featured, please reach out. There is a fee involved, but sometimes we do free features.

🎪 The Great Sankey Hub is hosting its first ever Summer Fayre on Saturday 18th July, 9am to 4.30pm, and they're on the hunt for local stallholders. If you make handmade goods, artwork, crafts, or anything unique, they'd love you to be part of it. Space available both inside and out.

They need help from 6.15pm with setting up chairs, selling raffle tickets, serving refreshments, and clearing up after. Shows start at 7.45pm and you get to watch for free.

💐 Walton Lea Partnership are looking for local Warrington florists or businesses who could donate flowers or pass on any leftovers. The flowers are used to support their learners in floristry, plant care and wellbeing courses. In return Walton Lea will give your business a shoutout across their platforms and in their shop.

🔵 🟡 Warrington Hongkongers have been out taking pictures of Warrington over the past few weeks. Their first theme was yellow images (I managed to guess most of these), and then I suggested blue…. because of Warrington colours, obviously. Have a look at their images below and see if you can work out where they were taken. Here are the links to the yellow images and the blue images.
